More of photogenic Mr. Finnigan, from the morning of February 18, 2012. Walking in our "back 40" (aka 100 Acre Woods) has been difficult due to the snow crust that has formed from repeated cycles of the freeze snow rain freeze snow rain freeze weather pattern that has characterized our weather for the past 6 weeks or so. The most recent rain followed by freeze gave the crust that little bit of added strength necessary to allow us to glide across the surface without falling through. (much) So this morning we got up early enough to try out the newly reinforced snow during that magical time of day known as the "Golden Hour".
